Maintenance Run On A Treadmill

On Sunday I turned my ankle but didn’t realize it. By Tuesday I realized why it was sore and what had happened so I decided to take a day off. That turned into me blowing off each run this week until today.
I just got off the treadmill in Keystone for a simple 30 minute maintenance run. I did a 9:1 pattern at 5.5 while watching the first episode of Season 2 of Entourage. Totally chill – just testing things out. Zero ankle issue so it’s totally healed.
I find the head games I was playing each morning hilarious in retrospect. I stayed up late each night working – sometimes until midnight, one night until 1am. When the alarm went off at 5am, it was easy to reset it for 6am, then 7am, making it impossible to get my runs in. I compensated by doing extra time on my treadputer, but repeated the cycle on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I knew today’s run would be in the afternoon so I just got up when I felt like it this morning.
Tomorrow’s run is a two hour run from Keystone to Silverthorne on the roads. It snowed about a foot today so it’ll be a wintery run, which I’m looking forward to. Even though I feel like I could have run a few times this week, at some level I’m glad I just rested and let my ankle completely recover.
