Hello Manhattan – You Are Crowded With People, Cars, Buildings, and Things

I was agitated last night and just tossed and turned until about 1am, thinking about SOPA and PIPA and how disturbed I was by politicians and executives at big companies who lie, know they are lying, but do it anyway to try to get what they want. I’m sure some of that was me trying to recover from the double long run this weekend and some of it was global annoyance. Fortunately it’s a new day and Moby is playing on Pandora.
My run today was an easy recovery run. I’m staying near Union Square so I hopped over FDR (via a bridge at 21st) and ran along the Hudson River for a mile or so. The goal today was just shake out my legs and get ready for a hard run tomorrow. The sun came out while I was running, which was nice, although it’s cloudy again.
My coach Gary included a note in my training log: “Stretch for 10 minutes after your run – do not consider this an optional suggestion.” Command given and obeyed.
